We strongly recommend you make a backup of your data before upgrading Crucible. Simply make a copy of your crucible_install_dir/var/data/ directory.

If you have Crucible configured to use a FISHEYE_INST directory. Then simply extract the new Crucible version to a directory, leave your FISHEYE_INST environment variable set to its existing location, and start Crucible from the new installation.

If you are not using FISHEYE_INST. You will need to copy some files from your old Crucible installation to your new one.

1. Download Crucible zip file
2. Extract the new Crucible archive into a directory such as /NEW_CRUCIBLE/.
3. Delete the /NEW_CRUCIBLE/var directory.
4. Shutdown the old Crucible instance if it is running.
5. Copy /OLD_CRUCIBLE/config.xml to /NEW_CRUCIBLE/.
6. Copy (or move) the /OLD_CRUCIBLE/var directory to /NEW_CRUCIBLE/var.
7. Copy your crucible.license to /NEW_CRUCIBLE/.
